The Latest Statistics on Infertility

It's interesting to note that infertility is a very fair condition that is split evenly among men, women and unknown.  Each has about 1/3 of the problems related to infertility spread equally.  Among the women however, there are many more things that can go wrong when compared to men.  For men it's usually down to either their sperm or anatomy.  With women the possibilities of something going wrong with the reproductive system is amazing.  Think of PCOS (cysts), hormones, scar tissue, and a host of other infertility causes.
Now, overall in the general population, only about 15% of couples in their child-bearing years are actually infertile.  Being one of that 15% does not help if you are trying hard to conceive.  The best thing to do if you are having a difficulties is to get a infertility specialist to test both parties for abnormalities.  The test to determine the cause takes time, but it will be worth it in the long run.
